116.
Make haste towards the good
and check the mind from evil. The one who's is slow in making merit delights in the mind in evil. |
116. Haõy gaáp
laøm ñieàu laønh,
Ngaên taâm laøm ñieàu aùc. Ai chaäm laøm vieäc laønh, Y Ù öa thích vieäc aùc. |
117.
If one should some evil do
then do it not again and again. Do not wish for it anew for evil grows to dukkha. |
117. Neáu
ngöôøi laøm ñieàu aùc,
Chôù tieáp tuïc laøm theâm. Chôù öôùc muoán ñieàu aùc, Chöùa aùc, taát chòu khoå. |
118.
If one should some merit make
do it again and again. One should wish for it anew for merit grows to joy. |
118. Neáu
ngöôøi laøm ñieàu thieän,
Neân tieáp tuïc laøm theâm. Haõy öôùc muoán ñieàu thieän, Chöùa thieän, ñöôïc an laïc. |
119.
As long as evil ripens not
even the evil one goodness knows, but when the evil ripens then that person evil knows. |
119. Ngöôøi
aùc thaáy laø hieàn.
Khi aùc chöa chín muoài, Khi aùc nghieäp chín muoài, Ngöôøi aùc môùi thaáy aùc. |
120.
As long as goodness ripens not
even the good one evil knows, but when the goodness ripens then that person knows the good. |
120. Ngöôøi
hieàn thaáy laø aùc,
Khi thieän chöa chín muoài, Khi thieän nghieäp chín muoài, Ngöôøi hieàn thaáy laø thieän. |

Think lightly not of evil,
"It will not come to me", for by the falling of water drops a water jar is filled. The fool with evil fills himself, he soaks up little by little. |

cheâ khinh ñieàu aùc,
Cho raèng "chöa ñeán mình", Nhö nöôùc nhoû töøng gioït, Roài bình cuõng ñaày traøn. Ngöôøi ngu chöùa ñaày aùc Do chaát chöùa daàn daàn. |
122.

As merchant on a perilous path,
great wealth having little guard, as life-loving man with poison so with evil heedful be. |
123. Ít baïn
ñöôøng, nhieàu tieàn,
Ngöôøi buoân traùnh ñöôøng hieåm. Muoán soáng, traùnh thuoác ñoäc, Haõy traùnh aùc nhö vaäy. |
124.
If in the hand's no wound
poison one may bear. A woundless one is poisoned not, non-doers have no evil. |
124. Baøn tay
khoâng thöông tích,
Coù theå caàm thuoác ñoäc. Khoâng thöông tích, traùnh ñoäc, Khoâng laøm, khoâng coù aùc. |
125.
Who offends the inoffensive,
the innocent and blameless one, upon that fool does evil fall as fine dust flung against the wind. |
125. Haïi
ngöôøi khoâng aùc taâm,
Ngöôøi thanh tònh, khoâng ueá, Toäi aùc ñeán keû ngu, Nhö ngöôïc gioù tung buïi. |
126.
Some find birth within a womb,
evil-doer quicken in hell, good-farers to the heavens go, the Unpolluted wholly cool. |

soá sinh baøo thai,
Keû aùc sinh ñòa nguïc, Ngöôøi thieän leân coõi trôøi, Voâ laäu chöùng Nieát Baøn. |
127.
Neither in sky nor surrounding by sea,
nor by dwelling in a mountain cave, nowhere is found that place in earth where one's from evil kamma free. |
127. Khoâng
treân trôøi, giöõa bieån,
Khoâng laùnh vaøo ñoäng nuùi, Khoâng choã naøo treân ñôøi, Troán ñöôïc quaû aùc nghieäp. |
128.
Neither in sky nor surrounding by sea,
nor by dwelling in a mountain cave, nowhere is found that place in earth where one's by Death not overcome. |
128. Khoâng
treân trôøi, giöõa bieån,
Khoâng laùnh vaøo ñoäng nuùi, Khoâng choã naøo treân ñôøi, Troán khoûi tay Thaàn Cheát. |
